The God of Rastafari
The “God” of Jah Rastafari is “King Selassie I of Ethiopia, crowned King of Ethiopia November 2nd 1930. Some people wonder why we praise King Selassie I if he is dead. To Rasta King Selassie I never dies. Give thanks and praises to the Most High.
The Colors of Rastafari
The official colors of Rastafari are Red Yellow and Green. The same colors that are on the Ethiopian flag. Sometimes we include white or black.
Who was the first Rasta?
This is a tough Question to answer. If you ask me personally now that I have thought about it…all the main men in the bible. Samson, Solomon, Samuel, Ezra…King David…Jesus Christ….apart from them you have Leonard Howell. Google him.
Biblical Royal lineage of King Selassie I

King and Queen of Ethiopia
I am told first time in History a King and Queen were crowned (King of Ethiopia and Queen of Ethiopia) at the Same time. In Rastafari Culture there is no such thing as a woman beneath her man. If a Rasta woman is submissive to her Kingman, it is because it is written on her heart, not because Rastafari calls for her to do that.
King Selassie I birthday celebrated
King Selassie I Date of birth is July 23 1892 and is celebrated by Rasta every year as “Earth Strong.”
Groundation Day
King Selassie I visited Jamaica on April 21nd 1966. That day is know celebrated by Rastafari people worldwide as “Groundation Day.”
Dreadlocks
Hair worn in Dreadlocks of Rasta Represent, Dedication to Jah, King Selassie I, a symbolic crown, a natural way of life. No fuss, no vanity. “Yahweh spoke to Moses and said, ‘Speak to the Israelites and say: If a man or a woman wishes to make a vow, the Nazirite vow, to vow himself to Yahweh, he will abstain from wine and fermented liquor, he will not drink vinegar derived from one or the other, he will not drink grape juice or eat grapes, be they fresh or dried. For the duration of his vow he will eat nothing that comes from the vine, not even juice of unripe grapes or skins of grapes. As long as he is bond by his vow, no razor will touch his head; until the time for which he has vowed himself to Yahweh, he will not go near a corpse, he will not make himself unclean for his father or his mother, or his brother or his sister, should they die, since on his head he carries his vow to his God.
