What are founding beliefs of Rastafarianism?

What are founding beliefs of Rastafarianism? by Empress Yuajah

Answer by Empress Yuajah:

Oh ok…You mean the beliefs that Rastafari was founded on…No human can really answer this question for you if they are not a Rasta. I will do the best I can.

  1. Black (African) People – These are the original and true Israelites/Hebrews, mentioned in the bible.
  2. Natural Living – Rastafari people believe natural living is best because it is Jah intended way for “man” to live, eat and thrive. (fruits, vegetables, mediation, live off the land etc) We also believe that when one “lives natural” he may induce a closeness and a oneness with the creator that is “unobtainable” otherwise.
  3. Jah is The Most High – There is a God. Life living by the word and directions of Jah, is a life that is prosperous, blessed, rewarding, feeds and uplifts the spirit.
  4. Judgement – Rasta believe in Judgement. We know that Jah will Judge every man woman and child according to their deeds. He gave us the 10 commandments to live by with other decrees and statues…he will judge each of us according to these.
  5. One Truth of God – (I have changed one of my answers.) The reason Rastafari exists is to educate people that there is one spiritual truth. That spiritual truth always has been, always will be, and never changes…The Nazirite Vow…now becomes Rastafari. The Life of Every Rasta is a Testament of God.

What are founding beliefs of Rastafarianism?

What are the dietary restrictions of Rastafarians?

What are the dietary restrictions of Rastafarians? by Empress Yuajah

Answer by Empress Yuajah:

Well…we have many dietary restrictions…however, it depends on how that Rasta chooses to follow the Rasta Livity (faith). Deeply or not so deeply.

  1. Rasta do not add salt to foodRasta believe Salt is something that creeps up and causes illness in the body. More Jah spiritually without the salt.
  2. Rasta don’t eat eggs (I don’t) – I don’t eat chicken or chicken embryos. Instead I eat tofu or vegan bologna (something like that)
  3. Rasta do not drink cows milk – Instead we often opt for Almond, or Soya Milk.
  4. Rasta do not eat any meat, or Chicken – Rasta love to eat fish, vegetables, fruits, and legumes.
  5. Rasta Refrain from drinking Alcohol – Beer included. Wine Included. Some Rasta consume Alcohol.
  6. Rasta do not eat Shell fish – We believe shell fish are dirty because they clean the bottom of the Sea. Rasta believe causes illness in the body.

Again all of these things depend on the individual Rasta. You will find Rasta who consume Alcohol…we are allowed according to our faith. We Rasta know our fate by our choices, so if you witness a Rasta doing these things….he is aware that it is against his fate. He is choosing his own destiny.

Rasta have other Restrictions besides dietary. Read about them in my book Rastafari: Beliefs and Principles on amazon.

What are Rastafarian beliefs?

Rastafari, Rastafarianism, Rastafarians. Religion?

king selassie

I wanted to put up a quick explanation of What Rastafari is. But first let me tell you what it is not. I feel it important to address this because people can only understand things within the scope of what is familiar to them.

Rastafari is not….rastaman

  1. Rastafari is not a Religion-  So to call Rastafari Rastafarianism, is unacceptable.
  2. Rastafari is not a cult- there is no congregation. Well except maybe to celebrate the King and other holy days
  3. Rastafari is not about Marijuana smoke and dreadlocks– Marijuana is spiritual for Rasta. It connects us to our ancestors and for many of us induces a meditative state. Dreadlocks are a permanent external representation of our inner love for Jah Rastafari.
  4. Rastafari is not a Religion – As Rasta we know that all Religion is man made and man corrupted, therefor we feel to follow Religion is to accept the lies of society and to currupt your own mind. From an Emrpess perspective, Religion was never supposed to be, but it is a means of control by government and Religious figures in power.

What is Rastafari?

black jesus

Rastafari is a Faith, but much deeper. Rastafari is an awareness. I was thinking about this as I was getting ready for work this morning. How I could explain Rastafari to the people so they can stop putting it into their minds as a Religion.

a way of life that centers on awareness.so what is that awareness

  • Awareness that the land is special and important to life and a relationship with the creator
  • Awareness that other nations, and Self should be treated with Respect and dignity
  • Awareness that to disobey Jah means to pay a price, in other words means to contribute to your own unhappiness
  • Awareness that the planet needs more love acceptance and understanding

So you can see Rastafari is a way of thinking, a way of being, and I feel the planet would be a much better place if more and more people would follow the Rastafari livity. I am trying very had to create a book that everyone can read that teaches the principles and beliefs of the Rastafari way of life. It is really necessary in a time such as this. Its called “Jah Rastafari”

Rastafari is not a Cult

Rastafari comes from God, the creator. I have never congregated with more than 4 Rasta in my life, yet I am Rasta. I was born this way. I know Jah made us like this because he knows the earth needs a loving army that knows the truth, and whose life mission is to spread love and truth. It absolutely beautiful how you can read something here, and go and find another born Rastafari and confirm this information with them. No it does not come from reading books, and no I don’t have some secret Rasta boyfriend I am learning from. Jah created Rastafari, and the purpose is for us to teach the people how to live clean and pure in The eyes of the Most High, so we can all enter holy Mount Zion.

Many people now a days are choosing Rastafari as their faith, and rightfully so. It is the duty of Rasta to teach the people so we can “stir” the emotions and thoughts of Rastafari is them, that they may also choose love light and eternal life.

Rasta congregate to celebrate….King Selassie I Birthday, the Ethiopian New Year, The crowning of King Selassie I. We have no special induction rituals. Believe me, if we were doing this I would not be here today.

I love you all. Jah loves you too…otherwise he wouldn’t have sent you here.

Blessed Love. Jah Rastafari
